signed by Moshe Yehuda Leib Keklir
15 1/2 x 11 3/4 inches
Multi-coloured, the central motif is essentially geometrical with a Magen David bearing the word Mizrach.
The bottom centre with a small Menorah flanked by beautifully stylized lions, the small inscription reads, "Moshe Yehuda Keklir. This is from me forever and this my remembrance from generation to generation. The year 5659, My wife Leba may she live," surrounded by cut outs of animals, double-headed eagle, birds, fish, trees and branches, all set on black background, bordered by Hebrew inscriptions "From the rising of the sun to its sunset, the L-rd's name shall be praised" (Psalms 113:3), "A man worries about loss of money and not about loss of days; money does not help, one's days do not return" (Sefer HaChayim 10:1); framed by array of more cut-outs of horses, fish, exotic birds, and four roundels," From this side is the spirit of life"
