PURIM SILVER GOBLET

Continental, late 19th century,
Masked figure in the form of a wine barrel, the barrel itself is embossed with maskes, grapevines etc. The lid which is the neck and crowned head of a masked person is extraordinary in that the head “bobs” up and down as if “drunk” symbolizing the idea to be drunk on Purim – till one can’t tell the difference between Haman and Mordechai, with Hebrew inscription “Simchat Purim”, 9″ high
